Fresh on the heels of his triumphant Rounder debut Try a Little Kindness, Bobby Osborne and his Rocky Top X-Press return with Bluegrass Melodies - twelve exhilarating new tracks that find veteran innovator Osborne at the very peak of his vocal and instrumental powers. Over the past fifty years, Osborne's incomparable tenor, nimble mandolin playing, and unerring ear for fresh material and ingenious arrangements have put him among the most influential figures in the creation of the contemporary bluegrass sound. The powerful and soaring performances collected on Bluegrass Melodies offer compelling evidence of Osborne's ongoing musical growth and undiminished, age-defying vocal prowess. This is the sound of a legendary artist who, at this point in his life, is still creating some of the most interesting and vital work of his long, storied career.
