From Downchild Blues Band comes Been So Long / Ready to Go, a blues album on Idla/f.n.. This is the CD edition. This edition was released on October 15, 1997.
The 20 Downchild songs on this collection are a joyful reminder of the rockin' good times Canada's veteran blues band brings to the stage, wherever-and whenever-it plays. IT'S BEEN SO LONG was 1987's return to the studio after a five-year absence from recording; READY TO GO was originally released in 1975, and features the sparkling piano work of Jane Vasey. Both original releases, recorded a dozen years apart and with differing band lineups, demonstrate all the consistency, good humour, strong musicianship, and high energy that still mark Downchild's live appearances.
