Description
xAnyone with a few pints in them would have no reason to object if Up came on the jukebox down at their local. Great Big Sea's second album adds a dash of Newfoundland brine to Celtic songs and sounds. The band rushes through Slade's deliriously catchy "Run Runaway" and the traditional "Mari-Mac" as if it were last call on a Saturday night, then puts the brakes on for laments like "The Chemical Worker's Song (Process Man)" and "Nothing Out of Nothing." "The Jolly Butcher" and "The Old Black Rum" cheerfully recall an age before 12-step programs or even Prohibition.
