Lonnie was unaware that her boyfriend Michael was wanted for fraud in Texas. Stanley is a wise cracking New York federal prosecutor who was kidnapped by a group of machine gun armed men on his birthday. His kidnappers demanded fifty thousand dollars or they threatened to kill Stanley and his father. Stanley decided to humanize himself to his kidnappers, cracking jokes and treating the armed men with total respect in the hope of being released.
