Oxford's favorite detectives Lewis and Hathaway return for the eighth and final series of the hit Masterpiece mystery, investigating the city's most complex and intriguing crimes. The arrival of new Chief Superintendent Joe Moody heralds a new era for Oxfordshire Police, but the high flyer soon clashes with Lewis and Hathaway over their differing approaches to detective work. With Hobson contemplating an international trip to witness the birth of her niece's baby, and the new boss piling on the pressure, will Lewis finally decide to call time on his policing career? Meanwhile, after years of avoiding the thorny issue of family ties, Hathaway is forced to confront his past.
