The singing stylings of small-town beer deliveryman Deke Rivers (Elvis Presley) get noticed by promoter Glenda Markel (Lizabeth Scott), who sees the young talent as a means of jump-starting the career of her ex-husband, fading country bandleader Tex Warner (Wendell Corey). Elvis' first starring vehicle also features Dolores Hart, James Gleason, Paul Smith, and a cameo by his parents, Gladys and Vernon; songs include "Teddy Bear," "Got a Lot of Living to Do," and the title tune. 102 min.
