In 2015, a 30-ton humpback whale breached and just missed landing on wildlife filmmaker Tom Mustill as he kayaked in Monterey Bay. He survived the incident, but the experience haunted Mustill and left him wondering if the whale was trying to hurt him. He returns to California to investigate, meeting those who have survived similar close encounters and the experts who know the whales best.
