The Most Serene Republic follows a kind of musical continuum. TMSR harmoniously combine traditional instrumentation with strings, banjos, and digital programming. Hailing from the Toronto suburb of Milton, Ontario, the young septet (now each 24-years old) has performed together for a half dozen years. The band is very much a product of their wide ranging personalities, beginning with Ryan Lenssen's classical piano experience and an obsession with musical history; and singer/lyricist Adrian Jewett's Joycian stream-of-conscious lyrics and larger than life stage personality.
