Every man who went to Vietnam has his story to tell, each more powerful, shocking and incredible than the last. Based on the real-life experiences of combat veterans, the nine episode series captures the full impact of the Vietnam War experience on everyday men and women. Stories such as the corporal who accidentally steps on a pressure-sensitive mine and waits eight agonizing hours for someone to defuse it. Or the account of an American farm boy-turned-soldier who discovers that bringing his aid to a starving Vietnamese village will result in personal tragedy. Then there is the story of Mary, a young and impressionable nurse who arrives for her tour of duty, facing the pain of wounded and dying men. Each another remarkable, compelling Vietnam War story that begs to be told.
